I only gave this book a 3star 🌟 rating. There just wasn't enough character development. I also found it not credible for a scientist to have such a filthy mouth. The vocabulary was so limited. Also, I found the story was just written to portray the sex, instead of the sex being part of the story. I really can't recommend this book to anyone except those only interested in in raw porn.

Something different from Ms. Skye, but no less exciting!Althea is amazing. With an important secret to hide, she cannot give in to threats from the apex predator who has captured her. It is fascinating to watch this relationship evolve into a loving one - with some unusual aspects to satisfy Brox’s need to dominate. Althea doesn’t mind being his prey at all!It’s a serious subject with seriously dangerous situations, yet the author is able to imbue the story with a generous helping of humor!Do enjoy - I sure did!

This is definitely not like her other books, in fact it was really gross. Beatings and rape. Not something that I could like in any form.

I wasn’t sure about this book at first but by the second chapter I was hooked. An excellently unique story with loads of action, drama and incredible sexy scenes.

Just finished reading this book, it was good, I wanted to give it 5 stars but it wouldn't let me (my Kindle that is) so sorry for the 3 stars I meant 5, to me it was good.

Had fun reading this one. It was so action packed that I couldn't put it down. It was fast paced and I read it in one sitting. The characters were fascinating and likeable with tension between them to keep you interested.

It definitely falls into the erotica category.Althea is a strong female and shows it many times.Brox is an even stronger male and is not sure what to do with a woman who is this fiesty. He’s used to women who follow submissively I guess.The plot is interesting and has a happy ending. No cliffhanger. There were a few typos, but will probably be cleaned up as this is an ARC that I agreed to review honestly.The world building is well done. I can clearly see the scenes in my minds eye.I can’t quite put my finger on what I didn’t love. Maybe it was the characters weren’t well fleshed out. I hated the Bleep character, especially towards the end and not because I was supposed to. Mostly it was just annoying.I need to state that I really love erotica and dark romance here because I felt like the kinky sex scenes did not make this book better. It felt a little icky right from the start.That could just be me though. I have read other books by this author and liked them a lot. So, I recommend getting a sample and deciding for yourself.If you like sci-fi erotica with a decent story line, then I recommend this for you.

Mike started programming on a PDP-8 using a teletype terminal. Great book, just what I needed as I gear up for the flying season and get L1 and L2 certified. Fantastic pictures and easy to understand. Makes graduating from Estes to high power an easy transition.

It is written in an easy to understand tone using the simplest of terms. Very straightforward with no wasted time on lengthy non-sense that isn't necessary to know. If you are someone that has never really been exposed to high power rocketry, this is definitely the book you want to start with. It includes parts lists and instructions for Levels 1, 2, and 3 certifications. Maybe you want to build his rocket design, maybe you don't, however the basic set of knowledge and skills taught by the writer is going to be essential as you move forward into this great hobby.

I’m certified NAR Level 2 and I wish this book was written before I did my certs. It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.I have High Power Rocketry 2 – the previous go-to for the topic – and found it to be more confusing than helpful, erratic in the order of chapters, and extremely out-dated.Make: High Power Rocketry was refreshing to see come out. I heard the interview the author did on The Rocketry Show and that convinced me to check out the book even though I already have my L2 and have no immediate plans for going for Level 3.I was glad I did. I read the book from the beginning and it was a good refresher of some things I knew, demonstrated some techniques I was not familiar with, and reinforced the practices I am already employing.There were two small things I was not able to find a satisfactory answer to in the book.The first is the tubular Kevlar the author uses as a shock cord protector. He mentions it in one chapter and then shows the technique in another, but never gives a source for the material or the type he used.The other is he references a lower-class FAA waiver as being required for all composite motors. This was the first I heard of this kind of waiver and he refers you to a later chapter for more information but I couldn’t find it. My best guess if that you’re in a certain class of airspace you have to notify the tower?Overall, I recommend this for anyone who is interested in HPR whether they have any certification or not. And if you happen to get this before you go for your cert, Mike is going to save you a lot of time and frustration.

For any student that is good at reading/reading comprehension, this book would be a good choice for them to review with. I might not recommend it for struggling readers, since it is not the most simplistic of review books.

I recommend this book for students preparing for the Biology Regents, or for final exams. Testing yourself is one of the best ways to learn material. As far as the translation is concerned, it is the New American Bible - the complete Catholic Bible, in an approved Catholic translation. So the target audience is, of course, Catholics.With something this big, you have to have a good way to navigate, and this ebook delivers. If you know the correct abbreviations, which are pretty intuitive, it's as easy as typing mt 1 5 in the search bar, selecting "Index Items" and clicking on the first result, and you'll go straight to Matthew, Chapter 1, Verse 5. Click a superscript letter and you'll jump to a list of cross-references to other Bible verses. Click an asterisk and you'll go to the notes associated with a verse or word. Then just hit the back button to go back to where you were.

The content of the Bible in this Kindle version is just what you would expect it to be. Navigating to the book, chapter, and verse of interest is far from ideal. I bought this Kindle book back in 2012 when I had a Kindle reader with the keyboard. The directions on how to search for content in the book using the Kindle keyboard worked as described. It was not ideal in that you had to remember the abbreviation for the book and Alt key presses to enter the numbers of the chapter and the verse, but it worked.Recently this Kindle with the keyboard died and I replaced it with a current Kindle Paperwhite which does not have the physical keyboard but has the on screen keyboard. Although there are directions in the book on how to do the searching using a Kindle Touch, these directions have not worked for me with the Paperwhite. What has worked is to navigate to the Table of Contents and bookmark(highlight) that page. I can use this bookmark to quickly bring up the Table of Contents. A few screen swipes brings me to the book of interest. Click on the book title to bring up the chapters. Click on the chapter number to bring it up, and then with a few screen swipes to bring up the verse of interest.Consideration should be given to updating the navigation system designed into this book to work better with today's readers. With an improved navigation system, I would give this book 5 stars.

Bible: New American Bible, Revised Edition 2011 I am very happy with this Bible. At first I was concerned that the notes and commentaries would make it hard to read (another version I tried had the notes inserted in the text itself which was confusing and inconvenient). However, it is not the case with this one. This Bible looks like the regular text, yet all the additional material is easily and conveniently accessible through hyperlinks. Following the publisher's directions, I've learned to find any verse in the matter of seconds, which is very useful. Overall, this is an excellent buy.

I'm not going to comment on the content. Either you want to read it, or you don't. I see no reason to quibble with the translators' biases or take issue with the social positions of the Roman Catholic Church.What I appreciate about this bible is that the translation methodology is described. Each section of the bible and each book has an introduction describing the historical place of the book, whether it's considered historically accurate or an allegory, and how the book was modified over time before becoming part of the canon. Some of the language seems a little too informal to me, but I'm willing to overlook that because I really appreciate the commentary and notes.It's fairly easy to navigate on the Kindle. I almost gave it five stars, but the navigation is not perfect.

It's the New American Bible, so the translation is fine. I've knocked off two stars for the usability. It seems like it was designed for an earlier form of the Kindle, so it doesn't navigate as nicely as other books that I have. That said, I really enjoy having this translation on my Kindle, especially when I'm travelling.First, I can't search for a specific verse (e.g. Jn 10:10). The book has instructions for how to do it, but they don't work.Second, access to the endnotes is sub-par. First, they jump you all the way to the back of the book, rather than just appearing in page. Then, the return function brings you back with that verse at the top of the Kindle, rather than on the previous screen. If I get my Kindle set up nicely for Bible study with the whole section on the screen, clicking any of these notes messes it up.

I like it. I started with the Gospel according to St. John because it was Easter time when I downloaded it and I wanted to compare the differences between John's story and the other gospels. The sermon on Sunday recently had a mention about the contrast between the "writers" and it was fascinating. Go, Father Stan! But I digress. Back to the book: I like the way there are footnotes and if you click on a little number by a sentence, then you go to the footnote, and then can go back and continue reading. It took me a while to figure out how to get back, since it did not occur to me to just hit the back button on the Kindle Fire (1st generation), so I got lost a few times by going from footnote to footnote. And you have to be careful while you are reading. You touch the page on the right side to page forward to the next page (that is usual in the Kindle Fire) and if you are not careful and there is a footnote number where you touch, then it can catapult you into a footnote page. I also wanted to read the story of Joseph the Dreamer, since I had just watched the Technicolor Dreamcoat by Andrew Lloyd Webber but I could not find it in the Old Testament - I am a new testament woman. So I went back to the Acts, and lo and behold! (hah! Angel humor!) There was a reference to Joseph. I am still reading that one, right before Stephen is martyred. Maybe a footnote will lead me to the dreamer's page. After I give due attention to Stephen, of course. Can't disrespect a martyr. It's a good book, no pun intended. I intend to keep reading, but I am not sure I will wade through the O.T. After I finish the N.T. then I will perhaps bounce around via footnotes and references. Cool!

Antonio Veciana is one of the most swashbuckling figures from the underground war against Fidel Castro in the 1960s and ‘70s. In this brave account, Antonio Veciana discloses how the secret government of the US really operates. His confession supports Jim Garrison's conclusions that Lee Harvey Oswald was indeed a member of the intelligence community and that there was a plot to kill Kennedy that was planned by members of that community. Veciana met Oswald at a meeting with his own CIA handler, a man he knew as Maurice Bishop, in a Dallas bank in September of 1963, a few weeks before the assassination. In this book, Veciana positively identifies "Bishop" as David Atlee Phillips, the CIA's chief of operations for the Western Hemisphere, who recruited Veciana to organize the terrorist group, Alpha 66, to kill Castro. As a result Mr. Veciana became obsessed with assassinating Fidel Castro.Phillips realized right from the beginning that Mr. Veciana might cause problems for the CIA in the future. Once someone gets pulled into that sinister cloak and dagger world they sort of sell their souls. I'm not sure Antonio Veciana was ever truly willing to make that bargain. And causing problems for the CIA is not a very healthy thing to do.Although ironically it wasn't the CIA who turned on Mr. Veciana violently but rather members of Fidel Castro's Cuban intelligence services. The poor guy had the intelligence agencies from at least two different countries mad at him. All the CIA did to him was have him arrested on false drug trafficking charges and sent to prison for awhile.Mr. Veciana is an important witness for the JFK case because he actually saw David Phillips and Lee Oswald together in Dallas. Lee Oswald was strangely silent during this short encounter. At some point Oswald realized he had ended up on the wrong side of the intelligence apparatus. He probably realized it during his suspicious trip to Mexico City. This trip had a hidden agenda that Oswald was not aware of at first.This book doesn't delve into the John Kennedy assassination and Oswald's possible role in the assassination in detail. It's interesting that Mr. Veciana says he's not even sure if Lee Oswald did shoot John Kennedy. That surprised me because it should be obvious that Oswald was innocent and not directly involved in the assassination.This book gives an indication of how much David Phillips and the CIA resented President Kennedy. Kennedy was doing things which were counter to the Agency's agenda.The great Fletcher Prouty wrote that the CIA intentionally caused the ill fated and ironically named Bay Of Pigs U.S. invasion of Cuba to fail. Their plan was to cause President Kennedy to panic and escalate the entire situation by authorizing an overt military response. But John Kennedy who had just recently become the president didn't do what they wanted. The Agency realized then that JFK was going to resist their evil schemes in Vietnam and many other places.Somewhere during all of this David Phillips and his pals almost managed to start World War III during the Cuban Missile Crisis and put us back into the Stone Age. This was an interesting read that came across to me like a fictional spy thriller. The subtitle of the book is "The Inside Story of CIA Plots Against Castro, Kennedy, and Che." It is not. I was expecting the divulgence of the inner workings of the CIA along with how high up the ladder the commands were given. What I got was basically an autobiography of Veciana, the dealings he had with his CIA handler, and all of their failed attempts to assassinate Castro. There is basically zero information connecting the CIA to the Kennedy assassination other than a chance meeting between the author and Lee Harvey Oswald.

This book is freaking awesome! I loved it. This book has all the feels in it. It is a 5+ stars book. I stayed up until 5 in the morning to finish this book. Then I couldn't go to sleep because I had all this wonderful characters bouncing around in my head. This love story is complicated, but oh so good! I can't wait to read book 2.I went in being neutral on which main character I would like the most. Came away loving them all. I would love to go into the reason why I love each one, but then I would have to give spoilers and that is something I won't do. I can say that the sex is hot, hot, hot! So go and get your copy of this book I highly recommend.Ashley Jade is a phenomenal writer. I love seeing her branch out into other genres. I having been dying to get my hands on this book and it was so much more then I anticipated. It is much more complicated and intreguing than your typical love triangle and I am completley blown away by how amazing this book is.This story is a beautifully written and it will grab your attention and hold it right till the very end. This book has angst, passion, drama, emotion and some very sex scenes. The character's are really brought to life and you really feel with them, and at times this story just makes you feel.I am so excited for the next book and I truly recommend reading this one, whether you are already a fan or are new to Ashley Jade, this book is one you are not going to want to miss!

This book was SO d*** good! I just can't. I can't. This book is a mix of frustration and heart, love and lust, but most importantly, it is a book that brings out EVERY emotion you can think possible no matter who reads it! It's not very often you meet characters like Breslin, Asher, and Landon! I lost count of how many times my kindle was thrown, how many times I laughed my a** off, and how many times my heart just got so full I had to stop for a minute to just take in everything these three characters went through. This was my first Ashley Jade book and it will not be my last! Complicated Hearts not only frustrated me like no other, but these characters, this book, this author, stole my heart.

This story complicated me, when I felt like I knew which direction I wanted to go nope Ashley Jade pulled me and twist me in all different directions. She has a way of masterfully throwing you for a loop. It sinks into you deep. I'm totally talking about the mind and heart. Giving each of her characters their own mind and personality as you turn each page you peel off more of their layers. Giving you something raw, gritty and genuine. This story was supernova hot with has you wanting to explore more of this universe. She conveys wholehearted that love is not simple nor is it easy to define. Complicated Hearts expresses the journey to find oneself, what we want and whom we wish to love is not straightforward with easy instructions. Just about a year ago, my bi-weekly Bible study started going through Jerry Bridges' book Respectable Sins. I was expecting a convicting book, and boy was I right.The premise of the book is that Christians too often focus solely on the big sins in each other's lives and the culture around us that we don't focus on the sin in our own life. So the book doesn't discuss things like adultery or murder. Instead, it devotes chapters to sins we try to ignore in ourselves like anger, discontentment, unthankfulness, pride, selfishness, judgementalism, and envy.The first few chapters are an overview of sin and the modern church culture. Jerry Bridges takes aim at how the church has stopped paying attention to these sins and reminds us that all sins are vile in God's eyes. He also reminds us of the importance of repentance and God's grace through sanctification to help us overcome these sins.Chapter seven of the twenty-one chapter book begins looking at the individuals sins. Many chapters are devoted to just one while some take on related sins. For example, he looks at gossip and slander in the "Sins of the Tongue" chapter.Since the chapters are about eight to ten pages each, Dr. Bridges never goes too deep. But he does use illustrations, usually from his own life, to show how easy and prevalent this sin can be. He'll then show from scripture how bad it is and offers us some reminders as we live our lives.Despite the fact that the chapters are short, they really pack a wallop. Most week's we've been going through the book one chapter at a time. While I probably would have read this 180 page book in a few days if it were up to me, this slower pace was good because it allowed me time to really think about what we were reading. Talking about it with others allowed the conviction to truly grow.And don't think you'll get out of conviction here. Every single chapter hit me in some way. Yes, some were more relevant to my life than others, but in all areas I had to do some soul searching and repentance.I can imagine how difficult this book would have been to write. None of the chapters gets too deep, and many of the subjects could use their own book. But I feel that Dr. Bridges does a good job of getting his point across in the limited number of pages he has. And if you want to know more about something, you can always research it on your own.Dr. Bridges even acknowledges that some of the topics addressed, like anxiety, might require greater help than he can provide through one chapter in one book. He assumes that most of his readers are facing normal levels of these sins, but when counseling might be needed, he does mention that in the chapter.If you pick up Respectable Sins and take it seriously, you won't put it down again the same. Not only does this need to be read by Christians, but it should be reread on a regular basis.

Personal holiness is a key theme for Jerry Bridges and in this book he deals with some of the sins that we don't mind displaying because we just don't think they are that bad, sometimes you the extent that we don't even think of them as sin.I think this book is very important for Christians today, particularly in the Industrialized West. It's not that Christians from less developed countries don't share these sins, but rather that Bridges addresses them in ways that are particularly applicable to Americans and Europeans.One reason I give it four instead of five stars is that he sometimes stretches to make a point. Occasionally he points out a valid area of sin, but his personal anecdotes fall a bit short in identifying that sin in himself just to identify himself with his readers.Another reason for four stars it's that Bridges' overt evangelicalism limits the book's appeal for those outside that part of the spectrum of Christian belief and practice.I most recently used this book for a small group study and it provided a great springboard for discussion. At the same time, it provided a great motivation for personal introspection and a desire for holiness in the areas he covers.

I had the privilege to read this book quite recently for a book study and then on my own. I consider this a must for all who profess Christ as their Lord and Savior. If you are not convicted by this book, I would recommend you question your relationship with Christ. This is so convicting and what makes it so good, is that the author brings in his own experience in to show us that the most mature believer who has known the Lord for many years and has taught others for years, was greatly convicted by these "respectable sins"! He not just makes us face them as sin, but gives us encouragement to fight against them.

We all know there are no "respectable sins," but there are some that we tend to overlook because we may not think of them as being as sinful as adultery, murder, theft.... Mr. Bridges does a great job in my opinion of discussing sin in general and then bringing out things in our lives that we need to identify in our lives that will make us more like Christ and allow us to have a closer walk with God.

Time goes by and I focus on big concerns in my life and forget the little things. At least it seems to happen that way to me. I allowed some "respectable sins" to creep into my life. I needed to see those spelled out and begin to deal with them. The book is well written and focuses on what the sins are (enough that we get the idea) and what they look like without nit-picking the minor details. A good book that I needed to read and apply.

This is an insightful book....The best way I can describe the effect it is having on our small group is to take a bit from an e-mail about one chapter from the bookl“Dear Friends, I invite you to take an 11 day journey with me. It is designed to help YOU confront and overcome ONE sin. Just one. I won’t pick it, you will but from the list we have or will be studying next week - Ungratefulness, Anxiety/Anxiousness, Frustration/Discontentment.If one of these sins doesn’t ‘jump’ out at you, it is probably seems ‘so normal’ to you that ‘you don’t think twice’ about feeling the pain of it or expressing it in some ungodly way... What do I mean?Maybe you have developed your own ‘tit for tat’ kind of game with it.Or.. Maybe you explain your sin away by believing ‘it comes with the territory’ or ‘is normal/expected under these conditions’ or ‘you are really handling it pretty well compared to…’Or maybe you aren’t doing so well…maybe you are being pummeled by it, like a child who is battered by a tormenting bully. And, that’s not a bad analogy for sin is it?The sins Jerry Bridges describes are like bullies of life who seek out our weak spots, our vulnerabilities and create havoc in our lives.
