Great book and gift, my dad was stationed there in WWII!

Visiting Palau in 1990, I bought this book in a gift shop as a souvenir. No doubt it has a collection of excellent photographs and some nice maps. I never actually got around to reading it till now, some 28 years on. Perhaps Palau back then was rather short of writers. Perhaps a habit of thinking persisted that no matter what the job, it would be better to grab some American. I have no insights into why this particular lady was chosen for the task of describing a most interesting country, its people and its nature. It is a tourist book, designed to attract visitors or provide them with a souvenir. You find warnings about various activities, possibilities for boat trips, or cautions on the dangers of certain caves or poisonous trees. But the text---oh, the text! If a high school student had presented this text to her teacher, she would never have passed. It’s really that bad. Where was the editor? “It’s” every time instead of “its”. “The hotel does not except shorts”. “choosen chiefs”, “the restaurants’ specialty is the fresh seafoods”, “smoothen out”, “to take a bathing”, “a woman who escaped to here”, “even natural deaths like a heartattack”. “the person had to lay down for a full day”, “not effected by spraying” and hundreds more! Misspellings, joining words that cannot be joined (ex. junglegrowth, treeleaves), grammatical mistakes, punctuation mistakes, constant use of “like” instead of “as”. Maybe this author is not the only writer with such proclivities, but somebody should have checked before publishing. She also, with her poor choices of words and incomplete command of grammar, recorded a couple of gratuitous insults to Palauans. I say “gratuitous” because she obviously loved the place and didn’t mean to insult anyone. Maybe cultural relativity was not her strong point either. So, folks, I conclude that if you ever run across this book and are looking for nice photos and a kind of guide to the natural beauty of Palau, you might want to buy it, but don’t look for much in the text. The three stars are for the photos and the useful maps.

I only gave this book a 3star 🌟 rating. There just wasn't enough character development. I also found it not credible for a scientist to have such a filthy mouth. The vocabulary was so limited. Also, I found the story was just written to portray the sex, instead of the sex being part of the story. I really can't recommend this book to anyone except those only interested in in raw porn.

Something different from Ms. Skye, but no less exciting!Althea is amazing. With an important secret to hide, she cannot give in to threats from the apex predator who has captured her. It is fascinating to watch this relationship evolve into a loving one - with some unusual aspects to satisfy Brox’s need to dominate. Althea doesn’t mind being his prey at all!It’s a serious subject with seriously dangerous situations, yet the author is able to imbue the story with a generous helping of humor!Do enjoy - I sure did!

This is definitely not like her other books, in fact it was really gross. Beatings and rape. Not something that I could like in any form.

I wasn’t sure about this book at first but by the second chapter I was hooked. An excellently unique story with loads of action, drama and incredible sexy scenes.

Just finished reading this book, it was good, I wanted to give it 5 stars but it wouldn't let me (my Kindle that is) so sorry for the 3 stars I meant 5, to me it was good.

Had fun reading this one. It was so action packed that I couldn't put it down. It was fast paced and I read it in one sitting. The characters were fascinating and likeable with tension between them to keep you interested.

It definitely falls into the erotica category.Althea is a strong female and shows it many times.Brox is an even stronger male and is not sure what to do with a woman who is this fiesty. He’s used to women who follow submissively I guess.The plot is interesting and has a happy ending. No cliffhanger. There were a few typos, but will probably be cleaned up as this is an ARC that I agreed to review honestly.The world building is well done. I can clearly see the scenes in my minds eye.I can’t quite put my finger on what I didn’t love. Maybe it was the characters weren’t well fleshed out. I hated the Bleep character, especially towards the end and not because I was supposed to. Mostly it was just annoying.I need to state that I really love erotica and dark romance here because I felt like the kinky sex scenes did not make this book better. It felt a little icky right from the start.That could just be me though. I have read other books by this author and liked them a lot. So, I recommend getting a sample and deciding for yourself.If you like sci-fi erotica with a decent story line, then I recommend this for you.

Great book, just what I needed as I gear up for the flying season and get L1 and L2 certified. Fantastic pictures and easy to understand. Makes graduating from Estes to high power an easy transition.

It is written in an easy to understand tone using the simplest of terms. Very straightforward with no wasted time on lengthy non-sense that isn't necessary to know. If you are someone that has never really been exposed to high power rocketry, this is definitely the book you want to start with. It includes parts lists and instructions for Levels 1, 2, and 3 certifications. Maybe you want to build his rocket design, maybe you don't, however the basic set of knowledge and skills taught by the writer is going to be essential as you move forward into this great hobby.

I’m certified NAR Level 2 and I wish this book was written before I did my certs. It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration.I have High Power Rocketry 2 – the previous go-to for the topic – and found it to be more confusing than helpful, erratic in the order of chapters, and extremely out-dated.Make: High Power Rocketry was refreshing to see come out. I heard the interview the author did on The Rocketry Show and that convinced me to check out the book even though I already have my L2 and have no immediate plans for going for Level 3.I was glad I did. I read the book from the beginning and it was a good refresher of some things I knew, demonstrated some techniques I was not familiar with, and reinforced the practices I am already employing.There were two small things I was not able to find a satisfactory answer to in the book.The first is the tubular Kevlar the author uses as a shock cord protector. He mentions it in one chapter and then shows the technique in another, but never gives a source for the material or the type he used.The other is he references a lower-class FAA waiver as being required for all composite motors. This was the first I heard of this kind of waiver and he refers you to a later chapter for more information but I couldn’t find it. My best guess if that you’re in a certain class of airspace you have to notify the tower?Overall, I recommend this for anyone who is interested in HPR whether they have any certification or not. And if you happen to get this before you go for your cert, Mike is going to save you a lot of time and frustration.

This book has a lot of useful information and has a lot of sample tests and test questions. For any student that is good at reading/reading comprehension, this book would be a good choice for them to review with. I might not recommend it for struggling readers, since it is not the most simplistic of review books.

Excellent for living environment review.. Answers are well described as well as common mistakes. Charts and graphics are spot on for review

I recommend this book for students preparing for the Biology Regents, or for final exams. Testing yourself is one of the best ways to learn material. This book includes a detailed synopsis of each subject covered in high school biology, followed by practice questions which have explained answers. At the end of the book are 2 prior exams and answers.
